When my XP-SP2 system boots I get a message on the screen "windows cannot find'C:\OPLIMIT|ocraware.exe" I click th OK button and then get this message. "Could not load or run "C:\ocraware.exe" specified in the registry. I then click the OK box and all is well.

I tried to remove the program(control panel-add or remove programs) but cannot find it. How can i get rid of these annoying messages?

Download and install this:

Then go to Control Panel > Startup > look for ocraware and uncheck it

Thanks for the reply and suggestions.
I downloaded the "Startup" program and it worked fine but the OCRAWARE was not there(not in the list). There is a OPWARE SE4 which I unchecked then rebooted, but it did not make any difference, I still got the 2 messages.

I also ran a full system scan with my antivirus program and it came up clean.

I looked at the second reply and it directed me to site that explains about the ocraware program but I did not see how to remove it? I am obviously not a tech guy but can figure most things out. On this I will need some additional help if you will.

Reinstall Omnipage. I'm guessing you can find it on the cd that game with your scanner or multifunction printer.

One more thing, go to this folder and see if the file (orcaware.exe) is there:

C:\OPLIMIT\ocraware.exe

This file is not there. C:\OPLIMIT\ocraware.exe

I do not need this program as it was from an old HP all in one and I have since upgraded to a new printer/scanner (OPWARE SE4 )

I will try to reinstall the old program from the original CD but I think I remember trying that and it would not install correctly. I will try again over the weekend.

I tried to reload the program but my system would not recognize the CD( old 1997 HP Office Jet 500). I guess I am back to square one on this.

The CDs from back then are the same as they are today, it shouldn't have a problem recognizing it. Try cleaning the CD , maybe there's some dust there.

The CD will not work in autoplay mode. when I "explore" it I can see several programs but i cannot find the oplimit or ocraware program. I did find a oplimit ocrawarepro trial program which I installed then uninstalled over the weekend but that did not solve the problem.

I believe the original program was called Onmipage limited edition but I cannot find it?
