HI

My computer keeps crashing and rebooting on start up. Sometimes it will get to the log on/start of windows and then crash, or it will crash while windows is starting up. Nearly every time it will crash and reboot about 3 or 4 times before windows runs. Once it is running the computer is stable and no problems. Changed setting today so that I could read the Stop Error Code which was as follows: STOP:0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x00000055, 0xF7945D74, 0x00000000) . Can't find anything on the internet or Microsoft page to turn this code into English for me.

Can anyone help, give me some advice and point me in some direction to curing this problem. My system details as below;

G'Day lufc72,

This Stop Error
0x0000008E....
This indicates that perhaps you have faulty RAM.

To determine if this is true; please go here; follow the instructions, and download the Microsoft® Memory Tester.

Lets say if you have 3 Sticks of RAM; then, you will have to run the memtester 4 times to determine which configuration is incompatible.

You can also try different DIMM sockets to determine if one if faulty.

Try it and post back with the results or any queries/concerns.

I've run the memory tester in standard mode and let it do 5 passes and it reported no errors. Also ran extended test for one pass and it reported no errors. Will try taking out memory modules and testing each individually later today.

G'Day, lufc72,
This Stop Error would indicate that you have an incompatible driver installed.
Here is a Microsoft® Help Centre Information guide...have a read, and post back with the results.
