When I first boot up my system, I get a BLUE SCREEN message that flashes by so fast that I cannot see what the error is. The system then does a restart and all is well.

I can live with that, but I would really like to know what is going wrong. I am sure that the error message must be logged somewhere, but I have no idea where.

Would someone PLEASE point me to where I can find out where the error message is put, so I can finally read it?

Press F8 during the power on self test, select enable boot logging, then look for the log . . probably in the C:\ or C:\Windows directory and see if there is a hint about what went wrong.

Welcome to Tech Support Forums Kitty..............:D

Is this a brand name computer like Compaq or is it a home built type.

I would take a wild guess that it's prolly XP

You might try pressing the pause key when the screen comes up in order to keep the message up long enough to read it
