Like Floop says, search for cmd.exe in the seacrh bar. Otherwise, I have two solutions for you.
1. Run a Malware scan, some malware can delete or disable CMD.
2. Open notepad and type command.com then save the file on the desktop and call it anythin.bat Run that file and it should bring up an alternative![]()
If you open the 'Run' bar and just type in:
notepad
It will open![]()
I did, when I opened up the file from the desktop, the desktop icons went away for 2 seconds and then came back on.... was I suppose to do something else?Did you try the notepad version that I explained to you?
Yes, Its supposed to open up dos :/. Ill make you a video and post it on YouTube...
I did, started then asked for original XP disk. Unfortunately my friend cannot find the disk that came with his Dell.Have you tried running sfc /scannow like i said? It could be some of your system32 files have become corrupt.
Ah ok, thats a problem...
