Like Floop says, search for cmd.exe in the seacrh bar. Otherwise, I have two solutions for you.

1. Run a Malware scan, some malware can delete or disable CMD.
2. Open notepad and type command.com then save the file on the desktop and call it anythin.bat Run that file and it should bring up an alternative :)

floop12444 & armedgill, thanks for your suggestions.. will try this tonight.

I am able to get on the internet for about 30 minutes at a time, could this be why AVG 8.5 free, Microsoft Windows Update will not do updates? I even uninstalled AVG and installed Free Aviral with same outcome not able to do update with theirs.....

Thanks!

If you open the 'Run' bar and just type in:

notepad

It will open :)

Ok, thanks.. could this be related to what is going on listed here?

Malwarebytes downloaded, did scan and found 26 spyware.. removed them.

Did do the search for cmd.exe and came up with following;

In Black;
cmd C:/windows/system32 380kb

In Blue;
nerocmd C:/program files/ahead/nero 148kb
cmd C:/windows/service pack files/386 380kb
evntcmd C:/windows/service pack files/386 24kb

Latest is still cannot do Microsoft updates, Aviral Updates etc.

Suggestions on your continued support is appreciated!
