Dear,

I have the problem that when I switch my Computer (Laptop Dell Vostro 1500) It goes directly to my Document. and no Start bar. (I can't fix it were it has gone) so when I want to switch of this force me to switch off directly or us Ctr+Alt+Delete.

Can any one know how can I get it back?

I have tried to go to safe mode and back date to the date before the problem bu after restarting nothing change still no start bar and it starts directly to my document

Please do assist

Do your desktop icons show up? Look in processes in task manager to see if explorer.exe is running. To open up the registry editor in task manager click file > new task > regedit > now you can continue with the above link

Hi, even though that fix say's it's for XP, it still applies to Vista, as some people are (rightly) afraid of the registry and this will be my 1000th post I thought I would make it easy for you. Copy and paste all below into notepad (you can use task manager as explained above "new Task" Notepad.exe) now in notepad select "file" then "save as" in the box call it desk.reg and save to documents, open documents and double click to merge the file into registry Reboot your computer

Ok well while your in task manager open up a new task and type: explorer.exe to get your desktop back. Did you do the registry fix?
