Starcraft Original with an HDTV

Hello there I have a problem with Starcraft Original: I can play the game just fine everything works except I can't see my resource count at all. I'm using a 28" LCD HDTV as my monitor. I am completely dumbfounded as to how I can get this to work, any help would be appreciated. My video card is a Radeon X1950 Pro. if you need more info let me know. I would just like to replay some old SC and enjoy it and not have to guess how much minerals or vespene gas I have. Thank you.

Whatever you have you'll always need more Vespane! How is the HDTV connected because it sounds like a simple case of overscan.

Im using a VGA cable, my tv came equipped with a PC VGA adapter already on it so i use that.
