hi,

i'm running a dell dimension 8400. windows xp (sp 2) . last night i put my computer in standby mode and left it for an hour or so. when i came back it wouldn't come out of standby when i moved the mouse or pressed a key on the keyboard as it should do. since then i have turned all the power off and tried to reboot the system but it won't turn on..all i get it a flashing amber light on the front panel. if i try to adjust the settings on the monitor (i did this out of pure frustration, in a 'let's press any buttons i can find' frenzy!) it just tells me the computer is in standby mode and to move the mouse etc etc. what can i do? i've tried checking all the connections inside and everything is fine. the diagnostic lights on the rear are blank too.

the last time i'll be using standby mode from now on!

please help!
thanks.
