Hi there..

I am building a homebuilt Backup Server (2U rackmount system with xeon woodcrest 2.0 single CPU/ 2GB ram, 2TB raid 5 backup system, with Backup Exec, also a scsi card attached to a Exabyte Magnum 224 LTO3 tape system for offsite backup as well):

I'm debating whether to go with Enterprise 400gb drives (5 of them) or standard desktop drives..

Is there any real benefit to the enterprise class drives.. ie: I think they have one million hour life..though this number doesnt sound right, as that would be like 57 years etc...

Here is the ES class drive I was going with:

There are cheaper desktop versions (also this drive is still only 7200 rpm, not 10k).

Any thoughts/experiences?

Thanks
