Hi

Just got system mechanic and am defragmenting my drives. I have 2 SSD's and 1 of them is my main system drive and the other is for gaming. The gaming SSD is recognised as a normal HDD and not an SSD, whereas the system SSD is recognised no problem. System Mechanic uses different defragmenters for HDD's and SSD's so I'd rather the gaming SSD was recognised correctly.

I'm using W7 64 and my motherboard is a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3.

Any ideas how I can resolve this?

Thanks

Hi, you should not defrag a ssd drive. Indeed MS will disable auto defrag when an ssd drive is recognised. Defrag will not improve an ssd's performance, it will seriously degrade it.

System Mechanic will not improve your computers performance, it is not a recommended util, you should do yourself a favour and be rid of it, the claims they make about the product are simply not true.

Since windows seven MS has included "Trim" built in to optimize ssd performance, this is all you need.
