First I'd like to say thank you to anyone who gives their assistance in fixing this. This is a networked computer belonging to the school I'm studying at and has an infection which is starting to grind my nerves. The network admins have yet to fix it, so I'm seeking alternate help. I can't log onto this computer in Safe Mode either, so I hope that isn't a necessary step.

The "symptoms" of this infection are as follows:

Browser homepage keeps resetting to "http://softwarereferral.com/jump.php?wmid=6010&mid=MjI6Ojg5&lid=2" which in turn goes to "http://www.ucleaner.com/main.php?wmid=6010&mid=MjI6Mjo4OQ==&lndid=2" --

"Windows Security Alert", Windows has detected an Internet attack attempt... Somebody's trying to infect your PC with spyware or harmful viruses. Run full system scan now to protect your PC from Internet attacks, hijacking attempts and spyware! Click here to download spyware remover for total protection. "Okay/Cancel" --

"Spyware Alert", Security Warning!
Worm.Win32.NetBooster detected ony our machine. This virus is distributed via the Internet through e-mail and Active-X objects. The worm has its own SMTP engine which means it gathers e-mails from your local computer and re-distributes itself. In worst cases this worm can allow attackers to access your computer, stealing passwords and personal data.
This process should be removed from your system.
