First I'd like to say thank you to anyone who gives their assistance in fixing this. This is a networked computer belonging to the school I'm studying at and has an infection which is starting to grind my nerves. The network admins have yet to fix it, so I'm seeking alternate help. I can't log onto this computer in Safe Mode either, so I hope that isn't a necessary step.

The "symptoms" of this infection are as follows:

Browser homepage keeps resetting to "http://softwarereferral.com/jump.php?wmid=6010&mid=MjI6Ojg5&lid=2" which in turn goes to "http://www.ucleaner.com/main.php?wmid=6010&mid=MjI6Mjo4OQ==&lndid=2" --

"Windows Security Alert", Windows has detected an Internet attack attempt... Somebody's trying to infect your PC with spyware or harmful viruses. Run full system scan now to protect your PC from Internet attacks, hijacking attempts and spyware! Click here to download spyware remover for total protection. "Okay/Cancel" --

"Spyware Alert", Security Warning!
Worm.Win32.NetBooster detected ony our machine. This virus is distributed via the Internet through e-mail and Active-X objects. The worm has its own SMTP engine which means it gathers e-mails from your local computer and re-distributes itself. In worst cases this worm can allow attackers to access your computer, stealing passwords and personal data.
This process should be removed from your system.

Type: Virus
System Affected: Windows 2000, NT, ME, XP, Vista
Security Risk (0-5): 5
Recomendations: Click Yes to remove it from your PC immediately.

"System Alert", a yellow speech bubble indicating an invisible tray icon saying that something or another is impacting system performance.

Here is the HJT log:

Hello and welcome to TSF.

Sorry for the delayed response. If you have not received help elsewhere and still need help please follow the instructions in IMPORTANT - Read This Before Posting A Log and post the two text files, main.txt and extra.txt produced by the Deckard's System Scanner, as it has been a while since you posted.

Thanks for your patience.
