Hello,

I have a Sportsman KSPLIT10 10-ton kinetic log splitter on which two wires at the front of the engine became disconnected. (See photos.) I suspect one of our goats got into the building with the log splitter and pulled on the wires. Looking at the machine, it is not apparent where the wires were connected. I have checked the owner's manual but there is no wiring diagram. I've also talked to the people at the store (Home Depot) where I got it and those at the company that imported it. It seems no one has any information that will tell me where the wires go so I can reconnect them. If anyone has one of these machines and can at least tell me whereabouts to go looking for the connection points, that would be most helpful. Thanks in advance for any info.

judging on wire length i don’t see any other place they can go. wire color not going to matter much each wire coming from different place not all company’s that make parts for that motor will have same color. plus i do not see male and female on it anywhere else.
That's all true, but I already tried connecting the two ends together and they don't fit. However, that might be due to the goat chewing on them. If I can't get a more definitive answer, I may just have to connect them and see if the thing starts up. It's not like it's going to explode or anything. I'll post the results here, whatever happens, in case someone else has this problem in the future. Thanks for answering.

That is a low oil cutoff sensor. When the oil is low, it will kill the engine.
They do plug together. We see thousands of these on pressure washers per year.

If you still want to be sure, look up the engine diagram (whatever engine brand it is ie; Honda, Tecumseh, Wisconsin-Robin, Briggs etc.

For instance, here is a search:

Reshape the female end with a set of pliers. Or cut and strip and replace the connectors with the crimp style.

Hello, everyone.

A big "thank you" to all who replied. I am happy to report that connecting the yellow and black wires together solved the problem. I plugged the two wire ends together and secured them with electrical tape. The machine ran perfectly and I was able to split the last two cords of our winter wood supply.

Best wishes to all.
