Help please! I'm not very good at the computer-speak, but I'll try to explain.

While I'm trying to install SP2, when it gets to the part where it says "Updating registry keys" it stops, gives me an "Access denied" error, and then uninstalls. I've looked in the setupapi thing, and found what is supposed to be the registry key causing my install problem. HKLM\software\microsoft\internetexplorer\featurecontrol\feature_disable_mk_protocol. The problem is, that isn't a legit registry key. When I do "find" for feature_disable_mk_protocol, I find it under the data field of HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2329175667-3054616987-612456469-1007\software\microsoft\search assistant\ACMru\5604. HKLM\software\microsoft\internetexplorer\featurecontrol\feature_disable_mk_protocol is listed on the right hand screen under "data" for "000".

I hope that makes sense! I've have 2 updated virus scans, 4 spyware programs, and have ran them all recently, so it says I'm not showing any viruses. OS is windows xp home edition.

Thank you to whoever takes a shot at this!!
