Hi,

New here but being relatively techy myself I've all but given up on this problem :(

Basically I'm an avid World Of Warcraft player and recently bought a second mic so I can play with my brother on another computer in my house. The mic itself works perfectly on any other computer except the one I want to; ironically the best performing PC in my house.

NOTE: Elsewhere on any other computer the mic works perfectly.

When I use any voice program or Warcraft and go to record or speak, my transmitted sound suffers from horrible noise, either making a constant buzzing robotic sound or distorting my voice to make me sound like a tron-esque warrior. This isn't really what I want, and I think the culprit is the mentioned integrated sound chip on my motherboard.

Motherboard: Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe
Sound Chip: SoundMax Intergrated HD Digital Audio
Mic: Plantronics (Don't matter model number I think, no idea)

Tried re-installing drivers etc, ain't getting nowt from it. Any reccomendations is brilliant, need any other info I'll be sure to offer it :)

Hi

Have felt your frustration on this problem.
I found the issue with mine was that my mb used HD audio as the default setting for front panel type, meaning the microphone was really quiet and the port setting options made no sense. Changing the bios setting to AC97 fixed it, but i had to reinstall the audio driver for this setting.

Hope this helps
