I wasn't getting sound...Plugs were o.k., Under Device Manager, there is no listing for any sound device (game controller, etc.)

In safe mode, there is a listing in Device Manager for the sound card.

Im on a HP Pavilion 7950, WINME.

Not sure what the sound card is...

ANy ideas? I'm thinking the sound card went bad physically?

FIXED!

The HP site was useless, just like all other HP support...

The Audio was set at "disabled" in the BIOS...Not sure how it was changed...Gremlins...

I have the same question....

I have the same computer with the same issue, however the link to the solution in this posting no longer works. Can anyone help???
