You have a computer that was specifically made for Vista. No XP drivers were offered by the computer maker.

So, you need to determine the Realtek driver set.

Get the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio from the URL provided below:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe

Then, get the Realtek High-Definition Audio CODEC Driver from the following link:

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3

I think those will do it.

Ok, if you have a name brand computer. go to the manufacturers web site and download the sound driver for your Make and Model. If not, then look at the motherboard, write down the make and model and go to that manufacturers site and download the sound drivers for that motherboard. Or Google sound drivers for that Motherboard. If it is all too confusing, buy a sound card.

Still no sound after installing those & rebooting my pc
Still have the yellow bangs in device manager?

Right click if so and direct the driver update to the driver folders for the downloads.

Check that Windows Audio Service is started and automatic in Administrative Tools, Services.

Check under Audio in Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices - what is shown for 'Sound playback'?

Click 'Volume' there and make sure sliders are not bottomed.

otherwise, go into your device manager and remove the yellow conflicts....download the correct driver for that specific card to a folder on your desktop..unzip it...reboot, and when windows finds the new hardware, point it to the folder on your desktop.
