i have a lifeview flyvideo 98/fm and a sound blaster live 5.1 and using mandrake 9.0 when watching tv i use xawtv however i can't get any digital output from my sound card when watching tv, the tv card is connected to the sound card line in so that i get sound output through my sound card. i get digital output though when i run xine or xmms.

lirc problems

i did not get any help from that link. but thanks anyway.How do i get irexec to start on boot and run as a daemon in gnome so that i can use my remote to to watch tv etc presently i run it by typing irexec -d.

I believe in sysV distro's such as mandrake and redhat you can do that by finding the rc.local file .. I believe its located in /etc/init.d/rc.local (you can also do a "locate rc.local" from a prompt omitting the quotes.. add the command you use to start it now as one line in the rc.local file .. each command you add is on a line by itself. Hope this helps! And I'll see if I can dig up any more info...
