Purchased a Sony VAIO from auction recently, (unknown to Sony) but will not let me register, remove or preinstall programmes. Model no. FW21L. System; Visa home premium OMEA. Microsoft serial no. on back of model will not register with Microsoft? Did have an unknown name as admin (in boruch) and no password. Needs recovery disk before use as it does not come with any CD (it is almost new also) Does anyone know what i can do as a way forward??

Have you called Sony Customer service? I think you can register your laptop via phone.

I havn't no, but did sell to someone (online) who returned the item because they said Sony did not know where the item came from / purchased? Should this make any difference?
