I am not very smart with computer problems. So I am sorry if I sound lame here.

I have an old sony vaio desktop that I am setting up for my 6 year old to learn on.
I have lost the original power supply cord to it, but have a supply cable someone gave to me. I tried the cord, and the computer wont even power up, no light, no action at all.

Is it possible I need a special SONY power supply???

Thanks for any response at all!!!!!!:heartlove

Every power cable I've sen is the same but you never know with Sony.
This is what the standard cable looks like on each end.

ok, this is an even dumber question....
I?s the only thing I need to do is hook up the power supply, and the monitor? Is there a cord I am missing that makes the computer tower power up?

Plugging the the PSU and the monitor should be all that is required.
Check the PSU for an On/Off switch. I is ON and 0 is OFF.
