Sony Vaio CS Series won't start up

I've had a Sony Vaio Cs Series for approximately one year now and this is the first time i've had problems with it. last night i went to bed an it was working perfectly fine. when i work up the computer was off and inop. when i hit the power button the light on the front turns blue the changes to white. also the green power light comes on for a second. first i checked the AC adapter and the light in the power box was on. then i unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in and the effect light on the front shined green for a second, indicating it recognized the cord. i removed te battery and plugged in the power chord and still it does not turn on. my thoughts are the laptop will turn on if a fully charged battery is placed into it but the battery will eventually drain and never charge. what could be the problem? any help?

Sorry this message is getting to you so late. I own a DJ company and we use various Laptops to DJ with.

I currently own 12 Sony VGN-CS Laptops. 6 red sangrias, 4 white ones and 2violet/purple ones. The problem is most likely with your power adapter. You can order replacements cheap on Ebay.

I've had to replace 3 power adapters. Other than that the CS series laptop is the greatest machine I've owned to date. I have 2 toshibas, 2 mini TX Vaio's, and 14 8.9 inch Asus, 4 Asus 10 inchers.

They all function VERY well, but the SONY VGN-CS are my favorites.

They are reliable AND beautiful too. Lovely, especially the purple ones.

Let me know if this helps.
