I have a Sony PCG-FX120 running Windows ME ( Poorly ) and I want to upgrade to Windows 98. When I install Windows 98 the image does not fill the screen. What do I have to do to have the image fill the screen?

Go to the display control panel. Settings Tab. check your screen resolution. Most laptops run 1024x768 or higher. If your computer does not have this option, check your video drivers.

I am unable to increase he screen size via control panel.

The Driver from sony was installed and did not increase the screen size.
Sony does not list any drivers for windows 98 on this computer.

If you go to system control panel, what kind of display device does it list. Is there a ! by it.

It lists Default Monitor and there is not an "!" next to it.

Try the one that says display adapter.

I found that it supports 1024x768 on the 13.3" LCD. When you go to the display properties is SHOULD say something like "Default monitor on XYZ Video Card." If it doesn't recognize the video adapter it might say "Default monitor on VGA" or "Default monitor on ."

The display adaopters section under device managers says "Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA)

Under monitors it ways Default Monitor only.

Nothing else.
