Sony Optiarc AD-7261S-0b

Hi!
This is actually a fairly simple question, at least I think it is. I'm purchasing a Sony AD-7261S-0b DVD burner. I've tried to do some research on it, and I saw on one website where it will run with Windows XP, which I have installed. Then, I was finally able to navigate through Microsoft's XP hardware compatible list, and it didn't turn up there. But it did turn on the MS Windows 7 list, and the entry there showed that it was not designed for XP.
So my basic question is, when this DVD burner arrives at my house, will it run on my Windows XP system? I have service pack 3 installed, too. Also, does anyone know what the other specs might be, such as processor speed, RAM, etc.
Sony's website says nothing.
