As far as im concerned if its the same case, cdrom drives, etc you can
use the oem version of xp. You are using the same computer, the hdd
goes bad, you are able to reinstall xp. There is a thin line, but It will
work as long as you have a good set of reg keys. If there is a problem
call microsoft, explain your situation and they will activate. Ive done it
multiple times, the first question from ms is, is this only on one computer?
You say yes and they give you a line of numbers to plug in. But usually
it doesnt get to that..
