I'm having some trouble with file sharing programs and torrents. My internet and other downloads (from websites) work just fine. The problem resides with torrents and P2P programs mostly.
I'm using azureus and I can't seem to EVER get a connection with the trackers. And that goes for pretty much every torrent. Under tracker status it always says "connection error" and when I update tracker under details it says something about a socket exception. Under seeds/peers for most torrents there are available seeds/peers but I never seem to be using any. For example seeds 0(15) peers 0(5)....thats what it looks like. Azureus is also the only P2P program I can actually get to work. Others suchs as bittorrent, Bitlord, Bitcomet etc..will just continually try to connect with the tracker without any results.
It's not an NAT problem (at least I don't think) because the NAT and other two lights at the bottom of Azureus are green and usually stay green. I'm pretty sure I have azureus configured properly but i'm not sure because it's all pretty confusing to me...I don't know what 90% of the stuff in the options means.
I have a motoroloa SBV5220 cable modem and i'm on a 3mb connection from atlantic broadband.
So here are my questions...
Howcome I can never connect to any trackers?
Do my ports need forwarded, and if so how do I do that?
Why are the download rates so slow with P2P?
and how the hell do I configure azureus to run properly on my system lol....?
