1st - I only play on my laptop which is in my lap & only use the mouse -even though some games would do better if I used my wireless mouse.

Have been playing online at pch.com but some games keep freezing and several others are now freezing - none freeze all the time -
Games: galactic gems & galactic gems2 may get get a score of 3000, 4000 or even up to 10000 before game freezes.
klondike solitaire, & gold rush (casino game).

Game(s) sometimes let me Submit game & the next screen freezes - but usually game will just freeze when I choose to go to next level. I have to refresh page and all scores are lost.

I have contacted pch.com & they said I had to delete cookies, etc. I did all that & games still freeze. I have also checked disk, etc. - games still freeze.

So is it something I do not have or need in my laptop.
I hope you can help.

1st let remain idle - nothing used just the HWmonitor
Then I opened Opera browser & played Galactic Gems online - was really sluggish then not so much then really sluggish again - had been that way earlier tonight so I've not been playing since.

FYI -I keep my laptop on a base/holder with 2 fans -usb connected to laptop.

I have tried IE & Fox -but both caused more freezing - so I've been using Opera for about 2 months.

Personally, I hate seeing a notebook PC being referred to as a 'laptop'. Yes it is possible to place one on your lap and use it, but doing so generally always blocks the cooling vents. Not always a problem if you are only checking email or working on a document, but extended gaming sessions can, and will, push your pc temps into the critical range.

PS: the hwm.txt files are a bit confusing to decipher. Use the Windows Snipping Tool to take a screen capture of the HWMonitor windows and post those.

Sorry but I purchased a laptop & that is what I've called it. And yes I do have it in my lap but is on a lap-stand w/2fans and the air vents are not blocked. :wink:

Attached are the 2 snip-it copies - are print-screens I had pasted to MS Word last night.
Please let me know if you need me to run the HW monitor again.

Does my 'notebook' need anything or is it the website. Unfortunately not everyone has this freezing problem and are getting really high scores - so that's why I don't think it is the website.
I don't have to get the high scores but I am sick of the games freezing.

How do other website games perform? Is the issue only with this website?

Actually I don't play games on other websites. I have played on Big Fish Games to check out a game and never had any problems.

I guess I could check out FB games - I'll check right now. - will try to find the same or similar games I'm having problems with on pch.com. So I'll be back.

not like FB games. Searched & found games.com with the same Galactic Gems2 - I played until I had a score of 20,575 then I quit - No Freezing.
Closed game & closed browser. Opened & went to PCH games & played Galactic Gems2 & had a score of 10,725 clicked on Next Level & screen Froze.

One game played once may be be an actual test - but I feel it works for me. So the problem is what I figured before - the website of pch.com despite their trying to tell me what I should do to keep games from freezing.

Of course, I still wonder why others can play & keep getting high scores while mine (& other people's) keeps freezing.

Many game sites still use Java, and all of them use Flash Player. Confirm both are updated to newest versions.

PS: When updating, make certain you deselect the hitchhikers (often McAfee trial, Ask.com toolbar)

Since the same game worked great on games.com - but froze on pch.com - I figure java & flash player are up to date -I check upgrade all the time. - plus I do not have mcafee trial and never had ask toolbar. And I have malwarebytes premium which I ran yesterday before playing the game.
