[SOLVED] Xp x64 Networking Problem

652 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  hfinlay10
Hi, I have a problem which is driving me nuts. I have two PCs, one running Xp, the other running XP x64, connected together and to ADSL through a DLINK DSL-G604T router.

All networking and firewall permissions are set OK on each PC (I think), but the x64 PC will not let the other access it via Windows Explorer. I can ping each PC from the other, and the x64 PC can access the other's shared docs.

What's weird is that the iTunes Shared Music library on the x64 machine is accessible through iTunes on the other PC. Go figure!

Any clues what is happening here? It has me completely stumped.

Re: Xp x64 Networking Problem

Have you configured the permissions on the folders to allow Everybody access? Do you have an account on the 64 bit machine with the same name/password as is used on the 32 bit machine to login to Windows?

I'm not sure what you're asking about the login screen. You have a login screen with a different Windows version's users showing up?
