[SOLVED] Windows XP Home edition will not boot up.

I have a HP Pavilion A620n that had a serious system crash. At first when I tried to boot it up a screen would come up and say that the hard drive could not be found. Yet when I went into the bios it showed the hard drive. After disconnecting and reconnecting the cable to the hard drive the system went through the post and then a screen came up asking how I wanted to boot windows.
Safe Mode.
Safe Mode with Networking.
Start with Last Known configuration that Worked.
Start Windows Normally.

Clicked on Start windows Normally.
The system rebooted went through the post operation and then came up with the same screen. This time I chose Start with Last Known configuration that Worked
Again it went through the post operation and again went back to the same screen asking how I wanted to start windows. No matter which one I choose it keeps going back to the same screen.
What am I dong wrong. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.
