[SOLVED] Windows Error Recovery Windows failed to start

Windows Error Recovery Windows failed to start. A hardware or software change might be the cause.

Unable to start my laptop.

Tried to install Windows xp but getting this error message
Setup did not find any hard disk drives" during Windows XP Installation

Operating system is Vista and it a dell inspiron 1525 laptop.

Please help.

Hi is the hdd recognised in the bios

Hi try F2 on boot and look at the boot devices

Yes sir, i can see the HDD in the boot sequence.

Hi if you have a vista install or recovery disc you can try running a repair you may need to change the boot order to cd\dvd drive as first boot device

Using the recovery disc fixed my problem. My system is back to normal now.
