I am trying to get my P133 with 96meg and 2 meg vidio to just run fair. The system now takes the time to make coffee to get going. I tried Nut and Bolts 98 to fix it (think it did more harm than good) I was having a boot sector problem (found I had a virus) Mc Afee got rid of it but it never fixed any problem though it said it did. Now I was trying to reformat a diffrent drive to use as the system drive and use the old drive as a slave drive. (just incase the old system crashed.) After trying do this with no luck, no my origanal hard drive is saying it s no longer a system drive and is asking for a disk.

Any takers to help repair this mess?

Yikes! Do you have important files on that drive?
If not, i would consider reformating the drive, and reinstalling Windows. I always take this route after major problems arise with the disk or Windows. Cuz, once its messed up, it keeps getting worse. A fresh install is always so nice.
This is only MY opinion though....

i agree with specs, format the sucker and reinstall. 98 doesnt give to many options for getting back that "new install" speed

Win 98 not working well

Thank you for your words of help.

Though formating is not an option right now. I do have files I need to retreive. I was able to get the D: part of the drive to work but C: is gone for some reasion. I can get the prompt but no data or space (Dos saids 0mg). How this mess started is I put the second drive on (forgot to set jumpers to slave)turned on the computer and the computer turned that second drive in to the C drive. Now the orig. C drive is no more and this my new problem. I hope I can get this data back by making my C/D drive whole again. I have not save any changee to the drive nore will the computer go beyond the C promp eather.
Is their any softwaire that can help revive my old C: drive?
Also is this software safe for us non IT folks.

Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
