Hi everybody!

I'm thinking of buying new parts in order to update my computer. I'm not very good with computer things so... I have some questions.

1) Will these parts work together properly?

Motherboard + CPU: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290443140301&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

RAM: http://cgi.ebay.com/4GB-2X-2GB-DDR3...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519383c7b6

Hard Drive: http://cgi.ebay.com/320GB-WESTERN-D...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f2c308d4

Graphic Video Card: http://cgi.ebay.com/320GB-WESTERN-D...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f2c308d4

I already have a Case and a Power Supply. How can I know if the case and specially the power supply will work with the new parts??

Of course, any advice, tip and/or recommendations are fully accepted!

Regards...

Re: Will this work together?

It should work together but MSI is not a great choice for a Mobo and buying from E-Bay is not the best option.
The RAM may be OK but I prefer to use brands that I know to be good quality.
Your GPU link goes to the Hdd. Post the GPU and the brand & model of your PSU.

Newegg is the best online hardware source.

Asus & Gigabyte are good Mobo's.
You will need to remove the case to see the label on the PSU. It should have a brand name and part number on the label.
What brand & model is the case you want to use? I also noticed you have an IDE Hdd listed. SATA would be a much better choice.

Re: Will this work together?

Thank you for your help.

I think I'm going to follow your recommendation of buying brands, so I was thinking of spending a little bit less of money.

So I was thinking of the following:

CPU & Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.436070

Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...810-Index-_-InternalHardDrives-_-22136358-L0A

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...-070810-Index-_-DesktopMemory-_-20145195-L03C

GPU: didn't find a reasonable price in Newegg http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390116239816&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

As I said, I want to use the same PSU and Case. The PSU says:

ATX-450W
Voltage: 110 - 220
Current: 8A - 4A
Frequency: 50 - 60 HZ

And the case it's "Colors-it", and I don't have more specifications of it.

This one looks decent; for you price range.

Plus it has a HDMI port and DX 11 if you want to use it.

Sapphire and XFX are my preferred brands. Although XFX is usually expensive.

Here is another option, that I have posted.

These should do good for the system. Look at them and the rebates. Tried to find you some deals.

The Corsair one is nice, but most expensive. But IMO, the other two arent that bad. Just depends on your budget. The OCZ Fatality would be the second choice.

But I would do more than 450W. Atleast 500W, but just an opinion.

The stealthstream is better then the Fatality, the fatality your paying for the name and the light the guts are not as well made.

Re: Will this work together?

Thank you for the whole advices, specially the one of the RAM.

Now, I don't do any gaming with my computer... I want to be able of run programs such as AutoCAD, Sony Vegas, Firefox, iTunes, MSN and JDownloader (maybe some of them at the same time) and also be able to watch 1080p videos SMOOTHLY... will be all these components enough??

Now I have another question. I live in Costa Rica, but I'm gonna be in the USA for a couple of weeks this month, so I will be able of bring them to my country. I will have to put my baggage in the Airports's X-Rays Machines... is there any caution I'll need with all these products? They can get damage or something like that?

Thanks!!

A lot will have already been xrayed when they come into the country through the ports so I don't see an issue xraying them on the way out:)

For what your using the PC for you could actually drop the video card down some to a 4550 passively cooled card > http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125250

Re: Will this work together?

XP will run on it, depending on the version you have OEM or Retail will make the difference if it will reactivate on the new system, OEM licenses are only good for the PC(read motherboard) first installed on, Retail licenses can be install on another PC if removed from the previous PC.
