I try to search for this and couldn't find it. Is there a way to remove white shadows in menu bar tabs and above theme?

Re: white shadows

I can't see any white shadows at all. It could be your monitor ghosting.

Are you using a VGA or DVI cable?

Is the monitor cable touching or close to any other cables?

Re: white shadows

I'm on a compaq laptop.
Re: white shadows

Plug a monitor into your laptop and see if you get the same problem. It could be your laptop's screen.
Re: white shadows

Don’t see what you mean, maybe changing your appearance or theme in control panel. I also have Firefox and mine is just fine, did you change your theme in Firefox?
Re: white shadows

That's definitely not the default theme/persona. It may be a problem with the theme or persona that you are using. BTW, I don't see it in your screen shot either.
Re: white shadows

Its in the red part mostly. I'm using the default theme. I just turned off the aero on the firefox that's all.
Re: white shadows

Do you still see the white shadows when you plug a monitor into the laptop?
Re: white shadows

OK, now I see what you mean. I have that as well on both Firefox and Thunderbird. I do have Aero on, so it actually helps to see the text. This is probably by design. I don't know of a way of removing it, but there might be a userChrome edit that you could use. Post over in Firefox Support at Index page • mozillaZine Forums and one of the experts in modding Firefox can probably help you remove it.
Re: white shadows

I just change the theme to windows classic. I guess it was the theme. I either have to use this or the aero or play with themes.
Re: white shadows

Or you could try asking for something to put in the userChrome file at the forum I mentioned. The guys who play with this really enjoy figuring out how to do these mods.
Re: white shadows

Are you talking about the top bar where the Firefox icon is?
If you are, it's the OS that controls the colors, not Firefox.

Re: white shadows

throoper, the top line go it fix. Its the menu bar. I disable the firefox aero. I got white shadows behind the menubar icons.
Re: white shadows

So what is white behind the text is supposed to be a color?
See attached where I have orange text on brown background.

Re: white shadows

Huh!!! What happened to the firefox icon and title?
Anyway, that's the titlebar that's white and that has to be changed in the Windows display properties.
Re: white shadows

what about the menubar white shadows behind it?
Re: white shadows

I'm still not really understanding what you are talking about.

Is it that the right side of the bar is a gray color and it fades to a white on the left?
