[SOLVED] When opening PHP files default program dialog?

5743 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  fooey
Hi,

When I open php file/s it opens a dialog asking for which program would you like to open it with, so I chose Notepad, and checked the default checkbox...it opens within notepad, but everytime I do access php file/s the default does'nt take effect it still displays the dialog, even though the default checkbox is checked? :S

Gets kind of annoying, especially since I have countless php files (in the middle of dev) and when editing I have to constantly go through that dialog process.

Did'nt have this problem on my Vista. :/

Re: When opening PHP files default program dialog?

strange that it doesn't set the default after you tell it to

i'd suggest taking a look at your registered file types (few dif ways to get to it) control panel > folder options > File Types (tab) > scroll down to the PHP extension & try changing it there maybe..
(click advanced tab once you select that extension too, make sure everything is set properly)

Well, go back into that Advanced button on the PHP File Extension like you did above. You'll see edit & open.

make sure each(edit & open) are edited(configured) like the image below...

let me know how it goes.

Wow. That'll be a fun one to figure out. I'm not sure why "Advanced" isn't popping up a dialog of any kind :4-dontkno
