Hey guys,

I have a problem I have a Western Digital WD1200JB 120GB HDD (manufactured 2004) and it only registers as a 33.8GB HDD. I tried to use WD Diagnostics and ran all the tests and it reports back no errors. I have tried a low-level format as well and still only shows up as 33.8GB. The HDD was given to me, so I guess 33.8GB is better than nothing, but I am stumped to why the HDD is only showing 33.8GB. My only thought was maybe the HDD is failing?? Any help would be Awesome and Greatly appreciated. I have tested the drive on XP.

Sounds like an HPA or it may have been installed using WDs disk wizard and have a DCO on it. Try this http://blog.atola.com/restoring-factory-hard-drive-capacity/

You are the MAN dude!!!!!!! I have been pulling my hair out trying to look for a solution and in like 10min you reply back and my hdd is now showing the 120GB. Thank you a million!!!!!!
