[SOLVED] undead mobo 7vt600p-rz

Hello,

I have a Gigabyte 7VT600P-RZ motherboard working with a Sempron 2500+ processor.

It has been working fine, but when I installed a second HDD (jumpers were ok) it booted up Windows XP and then froze. When I tried to start the computer again, it wouldn't. Here is what happens:

The screen is blank. No sound signals from the mobo. Keyboard and mouse aren't active.

I've replaced the graphics card, memory, spu and processor (put a sempron 2800+), but the problem persists.

Can someone help me, or give me advice on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Brand & Model of the two Hdd's? If they are IDE, jump them both to CS and put the Primary (Master) on the end (Black connector) farthest away from the Mobo.

thanks for your help :)

I did that, and the result is the same. No POST, no activity on my screen.
All fans are working normally (CPU and GPU cooler), and the HDD makes the sound of a working HDD.

I wish I could solve this somehow... :sigh:

PC Specs?
Pre-Built Brand & Model Number
Custom Built-Brand & Model of Hdd-RAM-Graphics-PSU.
Re: undead mobo 7vt600p-rz

the specs:
MB: Gigabyte 7VT600P-RZ
CPU: AMD Sempron 2500+ ~ 1.7MHz / tried with Sempron 2800+
RAM: 512MB DDR Kingston ~400MHz / tried with Kingmax and elixir
HDD: Samsung SV2042H 20GB / tried also with MAXTOR 6Y080L0
GPU: ATI Radeon 9600PRO AGP 256MB / tried also with nVidia GeForce FX5200 128MB
PSU: MSI 400W / tried with MSI 300W

Btw, it will not show the POST even if I take out all hard drives or leave just one inside.:4-dontkno

UPDATE:

Here's what we have now:
The mobo (7vt600p-rz) seems to have died. When i press the power button, the cpu fan rotates only once (cca 360 degrees) and then stops.

I guess this means the mobo is officially dead and can't be fixed, eh?
Re: undead mobo 7vt600p-rz

That problem sounds more like a PSU problem. Neither of the PSU's you listed are sufficient for a PCI-E GPU even if they were good quality brands. We suggest a minimum 550W good quality PSU for any PCI-E GPU.
Re: undead mobo 7vt600p-rz

agreed with Tyree the msi psu you have limited was lucky your system started with that gpu installed. Your system has been very underpowered and because of this you may have a damaged motherboard and/or hard drives. Having an under powered system can be a bad move
Re: undead mobo 7vt600p-rz

@Tyree and gbc: this mobo doesn't have a PCI-E slot, just AGP :)

here's whats' new:
A friend gave me another Sempron 2500+ processor and his PSU (300W). I've connected everything and finally something happened. The CPU fan is working! :)

The problem is, there is still no signal on my monitor, nor any beep tones from the pc speaker. Also, no POST.

Any advice?
Re: undead mobo 7vt600p-rz

Even agp cards need power to make them work, try a quality 450 watt psu and see what happens.

I am not suprised. You still need a quality beefier psu in there.
