Re: unable to backup data

So far you have managed to successfully backup from two drive letters.
I assume that the third one is to backup of a database?

Do you have enough storage space on the backup destination? It seems like it was doing the right job until it reached that limitation.
Re: unable to backup data

the size of my tape is up to 400Gb
Re: unable to backup data

i change the tape with new one last night but the same thing
Re: unable to backup data

I will bet that 400GB is with compression which means 200GB native. You never ever get the 2:1 compression assumed with the 400GB.

It says on the tape 200/400GB right?

might try using the hardware compression switch in ntbackup [/hc:eek:n]

You exceeded the space on the tape which I believe is why the backup failed.
Split your backup so the 3rd drive goes to a different tape
Re: unable to backup data

yes it says 200/400Gb

how to use this???
the hardware compression switch in ntbackup [/hc:eek:n]
Re: unable to backup data

how to enable this command ?
ntbackup [/hc:eek:n]
is nt enable by default ?
Re: unable to backup data

You need to plan on using a 2nd tape.

Type ntbackup /? at a cmd prompt and all the switches will show.
