Is there a way to run system restore from the command prompt? My problem is that when I open the menu to choose system restore, the menu is black and I can not see the option to choose it. I also can not get there from my computer or the control panel due to them being blacked out also. This problem arose after trying to install a visual style. Any help appreciated.

Start/Run type Msconfig/Tools tab highlight System Restore click the Launch box.

I cant get to run. In fact, I can't even see what I am typing in this box.
The area I am typing in is blcked out.

if you tap f8 when booting if it is not listed on the boot options if you choose safemode see if it offers restore before going into safe mode
