So like the title says, I just got back from thanksgiving and before it worked perfectly fine for roughly 5 months (5th comp build) and I decide to clean my thermal paste and applied new paste to the cpu directly and the new way according to i7 specifications. I power my little buddy up and all lights are on, all fans are on, but no boot up screen or post screen and then 15 seconds later it shuts down. I have no idea what it is, I have tried:

1. re-applying the paste
2. re-installing all parts

System Specs
Processor: iCore i7-920
PSU: 1000w Coolmaster
Ram: 6gb corsair
Mobo: MSI X58
Case: Thermaltake - V9 be
HDD: Western Digital

Sounds like the heatsink/fan is not securely fastened to the Mobo causing the CPU to overheat and shut down.

Re: System boots, then 15 seconds later shuts down...

Thank you very much for your help, I took out the heatsink/fan and put 1 dot of thermal paste extra on it and re-installed the heatsink/fan with a perfect boot up..
