I am having issues with my HP Compaq nx9420. It turns on fine. I can log in fine. It appears as though Word and random other programs are working fine. When I go to open the internet though it takes a good 15-20min before the page comes up but after that it runs perfectly fine. I am thinking its a initial program at startup. Ive gone through the task manager and about a zillion forums tryin to locate the problem with no success. It also give me alot of wait when I try to go to the network connections but after that long period of wait the same thing happens everything runs fine and no more problems. Any ideas?

Hello and welcome to TSF :wavey:

Does it take ages to load IE, if you open it up by this:

Click Start, All programs, Accessories, System tools and click on Internet Explore (No Addons)

Do you still use Norton? if you have uninstalled it please do this:

Uninstall Norton Using The Removal Tool

**NOTE: This uninstalls ALL Symantec Products**
  • Please download the Norton Removal Tool from here, right click on the blue link and choose Save Target as..., and save it to your desktop.
Once downloaded please close ALL open browsers, also save any work because this may require a restart.
  • Go to your desktop and double click on the removal tool.
  • Click Next
  • Read the Terms and Conditions then click Next
  • Type in the letters/ Numbers that you see into the text box. Click Next.
  • Then click Next and the tool will start running.
Once completed you may have to restart your computer.
