Hi guys

I've recently been able to change my computing and gaming setup so now both my pc and xbox connect to the same router with decent wired cables (no wireless lag yay). The xbox connects to LIVE just fine and there is no lag and I've even got media center running to stream files from my pc however I've recently tried to play some mp4 files but they dont work, they show up on the xbox video library screen but come up with an error and wont play, different sources on the web tell me xboxes do and dont support mp4 files.

I was wondering if someone could tell me whether or not they DO support MP4 files and what I can do to make it work or whats the best way to convert the files into a accepted format.

BTW the mp4 files have 2 audio tracks that i can swap between easily using VLC player on my pc, could the fact that they have 2 audio tracks be stopping them from being played at all?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Stream MP4 files through media center to 360?

Found a solution to my own problem!

I'm posting back so that anyone else who stumbles across this thread in search of the same answer needs it!

Very simple solution, I used DivX Plus Converter (which I already had) to convert the mp4's to .divx files, then simply rename the file type to .avi put it into my videos folder and it appeared on my xbox and is playable and no loss of quality

Obviously some of you won't have your folder settings set to show the extensions but if you have any problems doing so -

How to Show File Extensions in Windows

Hope this helps others!
