Re: blue screen of death

Are you able write down what the BSOD displays. I can only guess that the Hardware problem is related to your Network Card or modem.
Could you post all your system specs

Hi kaboomst1ck

BSoD's can really be a pain but thats why we are here to fix it. I would like you to go Navigate to the Minidump file. I would like you to put the dmp file in a zip folder and upload it to some server where I will be able to download it. I will use my command line tools to analyze the dmp file and figure out where the error is coming from. I have all of the tools here, I just request that you upload it here to our forum or you upload it to another website (recommended) and give me a link to its download. If there are moe than one dmp files put those in the zip folder to, thank you.

Also nobody is really a noob, these are very advanced things and some support Professionals can not even understand them sometimes. You are certainly no noob for not being able to read a BSoD error. They are the HARDEST error probably to diagnose on ANY Windows Machine .

Re: blue screen of death

I read your Minidump Files and it points towards some sys files, and mostly Hardware related issues. Since it can be any of those hours, I want you to follow this speech I created:

It has come to my attention that you might have a heat or voltage issue with your computer. We can not assume that it is one of these so we will go ahead and check. I would like you to download and install the program Speedfan. When you are done installing Speedfan open and look for 3 columns. One should have temperatures, the other should have voltages, and the last one should contain your fan speeds. When you have found this information please post to me in a column such as this: (Example)

Temperatures

Temp1: 30 C
Temp2: 60 C
HD0: 44 C

Voltages (only for desktops)

5.5V: 5.5
3.33V: 3.24

Fan Speeds

Speed1: 2480 RPM

(Remember this is just an example, please post your exact information)
If you are running on a Dell Laptop please follow these steps then post your temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds:

  • Open Speedfan
  • Click Configure on the Main Screen
  • Go to the Options Tab
  • Check the: "Enable DELL Support (use this function only on DELL notebooks)" check box
  • Click Ok then Close Speedfan
  • Start Speedfan once again

Then post your temperatures, voltages, and fan speeds.

In your case, I want you to do this while your computer is idle, and send the results when your watching a video or playing a video game. Now it is just trying to find where the hardware issue is coming from

Re: blue screen of death

ok i may need a bit more of a walkthrough to get through this. when i open up speedfan i get the readings tab (not sure if it is the right tab due to the fact i do not see 3 columns) so im not entirely sure where to get the data from (what tab)

and how do i run it or does it run automatically

Re: blue screen of death

Okay, since we are having an issue doing this I will go on to the second way we can do this. I would like you to open your Speedfan and just click Ok to the first thing that comes up. Then I would like you to take a snapshot of your screen by tapping the Print Screen button. Then I would like you to go to:

  • Start
  • Run
  • Type in MSpaint and click ok

After paint is open I would like you to go to Edit and click paste, save this shot as Idle.jpg. Then I would like you to run a movie or something that uses power like a full screen game, and close that game out after about 1-2 hours. Then take a snapshot of the screen once again. Name this snapshot in MSpaint Worked.jpg. Upload both of the pictures to the TSF server or click on one of my messengers below and file transfer me them .

Re: blue screen of death

Try cleaning out the PC to as, Dai has said this might be a issue with your dirve but that temp is a little to hefty to be at idle. Clean the PC with compressed air, and reapply your thermal paste. Use an anti-static cloth to and make sure that you keep one hand on the casing you take off all the time to prevent ESD damage to the PC's peripherals and main components. Buy Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste and clean your old paste off of your heatsink and CPU with rubbing alcohol and a antistatic cloth. Reapply a pea sized drop place the heatsink and fan over again. Leave the PC off for a few days to let the new thermal grease set in

It has come to my attention that you have either experienced many or just one BSoD (Blue Screen of Death). To figure out what file or piece of hardware is causing this I will need your minidump files to work with. I will use these files to read what was on your RAM when the exception at the Kernel happened. I will use the program WinDbg to do this. Please follow the below steps for me to obtain your dump files.

I would like you to go to:

  • Start
  • Run
  • Type in Explorer and click Ok

Then I would like you to enter this into the address bar or go to this directory:

C:\Windows\Minidump

When successfully navigated to this folder I would like you to move all of these files onto your desktop and create a new Zip folder called "Minidump Files." Place your Minidumps into this Compressed Zip Folder and upload it to the TSF Server in your next post including more information on what has happened since my last post. The second method is that you can upload the same Zip Folder to another file sharing server like Microsoft Skydrive if you have a Windows Live Account so I can download it there to.

Re: blue screen of death

speedfan shows your 12v+ line is down what does it list the voltage for it in the bios
did you run chkdsk /r
error 24 is a corrupted file system on the h/drive and error 24 is what you posted in the error code
