hi everyone

This is moderately urgent.
:banghead:
Please let me know if this has already been posted. (I have looked)

I need to remote control a windows 7 desktop from a windows XP tablet
for the purpose of controlling lights over wifi.

I am having trouble getting the windows remote desktop connecting to work.

I can ping each computer from cmd.

I will let you know if i get it working

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Remote Desktop Connection - Via LAN

On windows 7 > Right click "My Computer" choose properties

On the left hand side find "Remote Settings"

Set the bottom "Remote Desktop" area to the middle option "Allow" (Less secure)

When remote desktoping from xp, use the pc name or ip of the windows 7 machine.

Can get the name of the machine from the properties page of my computer.

Re: Remote Desktop Connection - Via LAN

Hi Barry

Thanks for the response.

I don't get any options in the bottom area of "Remote Settings" is this because I am using "Windows 7 Home Premium"?

I have found another method using teamveiwer 7 and typing in the IP address

Thanks again
