Hello.

I reinstalled Windows XP, but after that i had some problems. I think it's a problem with the graphic card or the drivers?

I can't play games anymore and I have no sound anymore. (Oh, and i can't put my PC on Stand-By mode anymore)

In my device manger there are three things with an exclamation mark.

I downloaded Everest to know the information of my PC. Here is a picture of it: (it's in dutch :s, i'm sorry about that. If you need any translation ask me please)

As you can see it's a Dell PC.


If you need any further information about my PC or if something is not clear, please ask me.

I'd be really gratefull if it could be fixed.

and welcome to the Forum

You can go to the Dell support site, enter your Service Tag Number and download the Video and Sound drivers

Thx for response.

I installed an Intel GMA 950 for my graphic card. It works perfectly now.

But still no sound, when I try to download the ADI 198x integrated audio driver, i get an error message.

Don't i have to instal an Intel 82801 GB ICH7 AC'97 Audio Controller A-1?
Because thats my sound card...

Does Dell offere that driver or is the sound card one that was added in?

The sound card was in it when i bought it.

If the sound cardcame with it, Dell should have the drivers for it

But i can't download the drivers! If i click on download on the dell support site, there is a link that appears that says the page isn't avaible anymore.

Maybe you got a good link?

If you click on the driver it will take you here:

http://support.dell.com/support/dow...typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=126932

Then click download and let it run

Be sure to use IE when you download from Dell . . some of the other browsers will not work right

I used IE but i chose dell manager instead of browser, and now they don't ask anymore which one i want to use so i can't choose browser :s

First it didn't work because i used google chrome.

Then i used IE, but i selected dell manager to download, and i should have selected browser... When i selected the dell manager, the 'remember my selection' button was activated... So now i can't select 'download with browser' anymore...

Do you see what I mean?

Try uninstalling the download manager in Add/Remove Programs . . if that does not do the trick, use a different pc
