Running HP P6310Y with AMD Radeon 6450, 1TB replacement Hard Drive, with Realtek HD built in as sound driver, the rest is stock. When I have a monitor with built-in speakers connected via HDMI, my Realtek hd manger's EQ, and balance/fader/volume controls don't work.

But, if I have speakers plugged into my 3.5mm jack, the Realtek HD takes over and I can use all the functions of my Realtek Manager. Under sounds, the monitor says its being controlled by AMD High Definition Audio driver, apparently from the HDMI connection to my GPU.

How do I set it so my Realtek HD Sound Manager controls my sound to my monitor? Or do I have to just use the 3.5mm input?

Re: Realtek HD Audio isn't controlling TV connected via HDMI

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

HDMI sound is controlled through AMD (your GPU). If you want the motherboard to control it, use the 3.5mm jack.
