OK, I haven't seen this mesasge for like 4 years now... back with my very first computer (pentium 2 - Dell). When I go to shut down, it does all the normal stuff, but then it gets to a black screen, and tells me that's it is now OK to turn off the power... ***? It always used to just shut down by itself... I recently swapped hard drives (and so a fresh copy of XP too) in my existing system... so, w/ my old HD, it shuts down automatically, but not w/ this new one... any ideas?

There should be a section in your BIOS called power managment, set ACPI to enabled, and while your at it, make sure everything is in order.
