expressed or implied. The author will not be liable for any special,
incidental, consequential or indirect damages due to loss of data or
any other reason.
Compatibility
-------------
ToolbarCop has been successfully tested in Windows® 98 and Windows® XP environments. Should work in Windows® ME/2000
systems as well.
ToolbarCop - Usage
------------------
ToolbarCop is a standalone executable, that doesn't require any
installation or custom DLLs. You'll need the Microsoft VB6.0 Run-times though.
Download Toolbarcop and copy the executable to a permanent folder before you run it.
This is because the backup files are created in the same folder from where Toolbarcop.exe
is being run. Do not run directly from TEMP folder, if you want reliable backups
/ UNDO REG file whenever you delete an Addon.
ToolbarCop - Description
------------------------
ToolbarCop is a browser extensions manager which can disable or eliminate
the following browser add-ons selectively from Internet Explorer:
* Unwanted Browser Helper Objects (BHO)
* Toolbars (Tool Band)
* Standard Toolbar buttons
* Context menu Extensions
* Download managers
* Protocol Handlers
* Horizontal / Vertical Explorer Bars (side-search bars)
* Startup applications originating from RUN registry keys.
Backup registry entries
-----------------------
The "Backup mode" is turned ON by default, and ToolbarCop creates
a backup REG file for each component you delete. The backup file is
created in the same directory from where you run the ToolbarCop.
** You may also turn OFF the Backup Mode using Tools menu, but the
UNDO reg file(s) will not be created **
The backup files use the following naming conventions:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Components Backup File Name format
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Browser Extension - BE-<day><hour><minute><second><millisec>.reg
Browser Helper Object - BHO-<day><hour><minute><second><millisec>.reg
Toolbar - TB-<day><hour><minute><second><millisec>.reg
IE Download handler - DL-<day><hour><minute><second><millisec>.reg
IE Namespace handlers - NS-<day><hour><minute><second><millisec>.reg
Menu Extensions - Menu-<day><hour><minute><second><millisec>.reg
Explorer Bars - ExplBar-<day><hour><minute><second><millisec>.reg
RUN Startup - RUN-<day><hour><minute><second><millisec>.reg
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Example: "BHO-151657367.reg"
