I'm not sure whether or not this is implemented in other versions of Windows, but it's a big problem how one administrator can simply change the account type of another administrator to a Limited User account. Is there any way to prevent this by requiring the "vicim's" password to change their account type?

Re: Prevent Modifying Other Users

Rather than giving a technical answer, I'd recommend a meeting of those with Admin privileges.

Re: Prevent Modifying Other Users

By design all administrators are equal and have virtually unrestricted ability to manage the computer and other accounts. It is a bad idea for any user, even an administrator, to know any other users password. In Window this is never necessary.

As Corday has said, this problem is best worked out among the administrators, not by trying to enforce restrictions on what they can do.

The only way to make it possible, is to make the other users Limited Users, so you are the only Admin.

Re: Prevent Modifying Other Users

By design any administrator can create and delete, promote and demote, change any password, and make any changes they may desire to any other local account, even another administrator account. All administrator accounts are equal. There is no provision whereby one administrator can impose limits on what another administrator can do. Any attempt to restrict another administrator can be reversed by any administrator.

Your options are simple. Work out the problems between administrators or become the only administrator.

Okay, thanks for your explainations. I suppose if I want to do that, I will have to become some genius hacker which is not happening so I suppose this will be solved. :D
