Hi, i just replaced the power supply, it is a 24 pin cable i didn't realize that my mother board was a 20 pin so i got a adapter, still no power. please help

What replacement PSU did you install?

Most PSU have 4 detachable pins (20+4)

What adapter are you using?

Check the 4-pin cpu power connector.

Check the MB for any damaged capacitors,burns marks, or any other physical damage.

Im don't have anymore but it was a cheap one. how can i test the new one.

Ok i got the power supply to work , the power switch was on incorrect. now when i plugged everything in ,it would power up for a second then shut off. i unplugged everything but the main hard drive it power up and stayed powered,then i tried plugging in secondary hard drive and it power on for a second.
do you think the power supply is shorting out?

ok i returned power supply got new one, my problem has been solved computer up and running yay thanks fr your help
