[SOLVED] Port forward to multiple IP addresses on WRT300n

2599 Views 4 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  ab0mbs
I have looked all around the router configuration and can not seem to figure out if its possible to forward one port to multiple IP addresses. I have tried using the broadcast address (192.168.1.255) but it only allows the last octet to be between 1 and 254. Does anyone know if this is possible in the linksys configuration? If not do you know if DD-WRT firmware supports it.

any help is appreciated

Clearly, the answer is no. How would the router know which IP address was to receive the unsolicited traffic on the port if there were multiple possibilities?

Port forwards are strictly on a port->IP basis, no multiple addresses.

Perhaps you might simply tell us what you're trying to do, since that's not going to solve your problem.

I guess you do make a good point. Well i wanted to setup wake on lan over the internet or and most sites say that it requires port 7 or 9 open so i just wanted to open those on all devices.

Since the WOL "magic packet" is a UDP broadcast, it should go to all the computers on the network once it's forwarded through the router's NAT layer.

Here's all you ever wanted to know about WOL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake-on-LAN
