today when i turned on my compaq pc, the on light came on, the cd,dvd rw lit up and nothing else. my keyboard,mouse,and crt didn,t lite-up. i caint access bios or anything. waylone

May be there is some thing wrong with your motherboard or psu ,get them cheked by a proffessional

Is your motherboard getting power? You can find this out easily by just looking and seeing if the Motherboard's fan is working!

I think a virus is possible but not very likely I recon it’s a hardware issue myself.

Probably is a hardware issue, it WONT be a virus of anysorts because the PC hasn't started to load system files even!

i checked the motherboard and there was a piece of lint that had stopped the fan on chipset. i gave the pc a good cleaning and it works fine now thanks,waylone

Its a good rule of thumb to clean out the dust bunnies once a month
