Hi -
I wiped the hard drive on my Dell Inspiron e1505, reinstalled XP Home via the Dell Reinstallation disk, and the basic reinstall went fine, but the wireless connection was not automatically detected like I thought it would be.
I then made a trip to Dell's Downloads and Drivers page, and downloaded the Broadcom and Conexant drivers. The laptop now indicates that there is an enabled wireless connection on my "home" network. However, if I try to open a browser, I get an error message telling me that there is no available internet connection. Also, if I do an ipconfig from a command prompt, there is no assigned ip address. I went thru the Home Network wizard, and my laptop thinks it is on the "home" network, but it cannot see, nor be seen by, the other pcs on my home n/w.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
