Hello, i just recently finished a build thanks to Linderman, and Grimx. Everything seemed to start up
1st shot, but something seems wrong. I havent really done anything to it but adjust the performance settings to high performance in the control panel. I also have changed the resolution to 1680x1050. I have the latest graphic drivers, but my game is a little slow. I play enemy territory online version, but so far my computer shut down 3 times. It makes a weird buzzing noise, sort of like a car horn back in the old days(coming from my headset anyways). Then i get a blue screen, that looks like a bunch of messages but i only see it for a flash(1/2) second, then computer restarts. Any idea whats wrong or if im missing some more important set ups? sorry, after that last post i couldnt get back on this site. I wanted to say that my nvidia control panel keeps going to default on the image settings everytime i restart my computer. I have to set it at high performance everytime i start up? If thats connected to the issue im having? i dunno.

Also quickly how can i get the dropdown signature so you dont have to click profile for it?

Sounds like you're using nVidia's nTune program to overclock your graphics card. Did a quick search and apparantly it doesn't hold settings. I haven't heard anything good about that program. Have you tried playing with the card at the default settings? If you must overclock, try something like RivaTuner. http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner

I dont think i was overclocking my video card, its just a setting in the nvidia control panel...its just a regular option. The regular default setting is worse for me, it barely holds my game.

I dont know how to overclock. Never heard of ntune.

What drivers are you using? The latest from nVidia are the 178.24. Can't check my nVidia control panel right now, that machine is running TestDisk, so I'm on one with an ATI card in it.

what are your cpu temps when things are acting up ................ use sensorsview pro (trial version for 30 days)

I originally bought sp2 but when i look at system in internet options it says sp3. Dunno if it was 1 of many downloads i had to install, when i started windows for the 1st time.

That program you posted is this the correct download, Rather get it from the source?

bump up your ddr2 ram voltage to 2.1 volts in the bios

what do you mean by run orthos? I will try this program, and try to carefully figure the ddr2 in bios.
Should i have not installed sp3?

well ive been looking for an hr. and researching but i just cant seem to figure out how to set the volts for my DDR2 ram. I found an overvoltage control for my ram i think, but thats it. +5 is blinking red is that the one i want? Oh and i dont think i can play my game and watch the window of the cpu temp. What do i do here?

hit the "ESC" key and check your temps

well i tried everything... I went down the list in bios hitting enter on each setting to see the options and there is nothing stating Vdimm voltage? Anymore ideas? Meanwhile im gonna play 1 map on my game (think i can get that program to run on top), gonna find out. Ill be back.

okay i noticed my cpu temp. is reading 0 cel./or 32 fer. Its not moving at all, almost like its frozen, lol. Thats not right is it? Even after getting into the middle of a warzone on game, and hitting escape to read the sensor view.

Also in device mngr. under processors there is 2 E8600 listed.

try core temp monitor and perform the same check under load



BTW a dual core cpu is in fact; two cpu's on one die ........ thats normal to see two of them listed

well im not understanding this other program "core temp" but i think i managed to get logs, which i dont understand. Here are some tests. There wasnt too many people playing the game in these stats, so it could get worse. I dunno. Does this help? When im idling on desktop doing nothing i get 38/32 see attatchment. From doing some researching im seeing something wrong with these high marks. Others idling at around 30/30? how confusing...

how is your case cooling ? how many case fans do you have ? where are they located and which direction does each one move air

56C is a rather warm temp in my book .......dont know if the cpu will get any hotter than that during intense game play ........ but if it does ...... then you have caught your suspect
